Inspired by The Frog and the Bird written by Vera Hessey located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)
Sunshine springing from well of joy glossing the sky and stream by woods of green foliage and thickets of deep green.
Chirp chirp chirp the bird crowed over his good fortune to have a great perch high in the willows crying tree.
The frog with eyes of blue aqua soft croaked croaked croaked with sweet content as he consumed fly after fly.
Froggie the Frog replete full said to the bird don’t you wish you were me?
Eagle the Bird said no I don’t because I can go where you can’t. Ha Ha Ha Ha.
Froggie said “so”. I get around good as you heck I just can’t see far as you.
Eagle said good I am glad you are not jealous you are my friend for life. Pack?
Froggie said pack. You got it. I love you already!
Coming down from his perch of lofty thoughts and scenes they began the waltz and tango of friendship to seal the bargain swift.
Laughter trailing step by step they pranced forward backward swinging sideways as they hammered tune by tune to thrill all eyes watching with wry humor and appreciation of theatrics of many.
Interlude coming to end they ended with hands clasped with friendship sealed forever.
