Inspired by Rabbit’s Snow Dance, written by Joseph Bruchac, located in The Boy who lived with the Bears and other Iroquois stories.
Once upon a time in days of old rabbits looked different with legs of long and tail of bushy swishing long
Being a rabbit of love of snow he showed his love to prance and dance in the flakes of white fluffs until they churn up laughing as he flies bye
A day of sad occurred for the snow melted and their tears went into hard caring earth and Rabbit said if only it would snow they would laugh again and so would I
Thinking hard Rabbit remembered what his grandmother told him a song of sweet to enchant the snow to whisper and fall as flakes of laughing wonder to please a little Rabbit’s wish for snow
Rabbit singing a song of sweet one oh sweet one if you fall I would your embrace to feel your sweet caress on my face as I travel fast fast as my heart beat until all is surreal sublime pleasure that charm even the Gods and stars above smiled
Hearing his song of courtship the snow fell fell in sweet laughing flakes of white fluff to grant his wish to run and play and as he song it snowed snowed until all trees were covered to the tip of all
Rabbit became tired for he had reached the pinnacle of top and had danced and song until his home was hidden fast beneath the snow and with that thought he curled himself tight on branch of tree and slept slept slept until the snow melted and was stuck in air in tree
Rabbit unable to climb a tree looked bewildered puzzled on how to get down to go home and hunger hit him hard and he fell breaking his tail and scrunched his back legs and split his lip and with knowledge known always quit while you’re ahead and do not be so opt to seek only play and pleasure
