Twinkle Twinkle Left A Gift for All

Inspired by The Rock-A-By Lady written by Eugene Field located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)

Coming from a place of small unknown she sparkled far and wide

Bearing gifts in hand and hidden true she gave them freely to one and all

Disguised they grow grow as maturity rises until levels of differing plateaus rendezvous

Smiling to herself she watched as each grow grow change change and rejoice rejoice for innocence is replaced with wisdom, knowledge of how to use the new found gifts

As one dream became reality she whispered to her friend no one could see I am so happy so happy make it make it if I cannot

Closing her eyes shut she watched moonbeams dance over house of dreams that received the gifts to be used true

Twirling she caught dream after dream as they whisked by on silver streams so bright they cascaded stars from the first and last

Sleep sleep sleep she wait until happy snores creep about telling her when when to give gifts of gifts to all young and true for you are the future bright sweet
