Personalized medicine is a revolutionary approach toward treating the human body as a whole with concerns as to genetic and hereditary factors. Because of the need to facilitate new procedures in helping and treating people this research has been done by the United States Government to identify the genes that make up the structural spiral of the DNR chain. The Human Genome Project was completed in 2003 with the hope of creating medicine geared toward the genetics of people which would help in the treatment of individual cases of extremity.
Personalized Medicine also known as Genome Medicine signifies the goal of learning the order of the 3 billion units of DNR that goes into making a human genome. According to research one human genome contains 22,000 to 23,000 genes and it was an established point and goal to determine and pinpoint the specific genes that served as a catalyst and initiator for common diseases and would be the focus even with the complexity of the task. Unfortunately, because of the multitude of diseases and genetic variations utilizing this form of medicine is a challenge. A challenge yes but still a contender because of the invaluable information garnered, collected, and compiled it has made a directional pavement for the future in considering this approach toward improvement in quality health care.
It is a relatively new field of healthcare which entails considering each person’s unique clinical, genetics, genomic and environmental information. Also, it allows the ability to accurately allow predictions to be made about a person’s lack of immunity to developing a disease, duration of a disease and possible response to treatment of the disease. After the findings have been established all must be translated into precise diagnostic tests and targeted treatment therapies will be established.

Some of the advantages of Personalized Medicines offered to patients and clinicians include:
A. Ability to make informed medical decisions on input from practitioner
B. Higher probability of desired outcomes thanks to better opinioned therapies chosen
C. Reduced probability of negative side effects
D. Focus on prevention halting and terminating, prediction of disease rather than reaction to it
E. Earlier disease intervention than has ever been possible in the future
F. Even more better health costs (Reduced health care)
Because of these advantages this will allow the acceptance of personalized medicine. Further based on the positive aspects and even though the effects are different and vary from person to person knowing that an optimum effect is desired for each person it is projected to be as close as possible to produce expected results.
Ethics in personalized medicine are as effective as in other medical procedures and that it allows the protection of patient privacy, patient autonomy and allows access to personalized medicine. Further acknowledging a patient’s right to privacy is one of the most important privileges a person has.
