Inspired by Silver written by Walter de la Mare located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)
In each lining is silver to cover the errant ways we try to curve away
The light is bloom but the dear clouds yearn for more more silver to hide each play
Dancing on the water the clouds appear disappear and reappear like shimmering sunshine that slips away
Silver clouds silver clouds the bells ring loud low with haunting sorrow they clamor with tears running abreast freely on all
Doves aplenty come out with hands of peace to bring good will and tidings to all under shelter of silver clouds as they play
Smiling happily silver clouds rejoice rejoice and come again and again to enlighten and bless the day
