Inspired by Romance written by Gabriel Setoun located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)
A ship of beauty it hurt the eye to behold and look away difficult
Standing tall a galleon of refine atrim with gold and black with sails of silk red
Decks of faded winter chestnut of polished sparked dull as recessed sunlight
Riding high fierce it rode the waves as a man rides a woman wild and free
All that saw her sighed in awe of a filly fined tuned to fight abrisk a wave by wave
Captana Alyn rode the deck astern deck in black pantaloons with blouse of red rippling silk and cutlass of light custom
Around her neck she wore a medallion of crystallized magic that gave direction quiet to her alone
Manning cannons of eight on each side she personally aimed each with deadly precision of artistic refine accuracy miss none
Equipped different and rigged special she need only 15 sailors of trained technique special fighting skills of multi were they
Wearing coolie hat and wear for cool they deceive all of nationality true that see and know not race or creed
Sailing day by day they seek fights of mercenary hunting prey they relish and treasure of plunder all for glory glory and thrill of elation
