JACK-O-LANTERN’S SONG

Inspired by The Jolly Jack-O-Lantern, by Michael Teitelbaum, Illustrated by Ellen Appleby.

All the kids a smile and happy prancing around singing Trick or Treat

Anticipating the night of howl, owl and creepy blue black night

Carving faces of cruelty smiles with zagged teeth that say “I am going to get you.”

All faces of carved a leer and start to stare at one Jack-o-Lantern suspiciously long

Growling at each other they clamored and said why do you have to look so happy don’t sit by me I will be doing my job and being a scary

Sitting on porch aligned with snickers and jagged teeth they greeted all with delightful cackle and howling jokes

All the Jack-o-Lanterns wishing them a howling Happy Halloween ran about the porch saying coming again
