My Shadow and Me

Inspired by My Shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)

Lonely never will I be for a side of me is always mimic all I do and laughs when I say nay don’t

A use of him is that he watches my back through through letting me know who be behind me soul
Crystal clear is his intent around me and that is to second and mimic my every action and deed

Step by step when I dance so does my twin of dark shadow pop pop goes the rhythm and the movement flow of all
My shadow is me and sometimes I feel safer as bell for he is ten feet tall and watches over me long as the sun is around spinning the orbit full

As a cookie cutter’s dream he is like me in size yet not jumping when I jump as the running cookie does
If a wish be true I would like him to be a true knight you sea to divide part and be my champion of fights when down out and defeated I need an ally to work it out
