Lillie and the Sugar Plum Tree

Inspired by The Sugar-Plum Tree by Eugene Field located in A Children’s Book of Verse, Illustrated by Eric Kincaid, Poems selected by Marjorie Rogers. (Brimax Books)

Curious eyes of green narrowed to slits of speculation at a tree of dandy candy sweet.

A marvel of great it brought attention of all for it bloomed not fruit alone but candy canes, lollipops, sugar plums, sweet tarts with Cocoa the Chocolate Cat watching it all.

Rare as gold as treasure only one in the world you sea that blooms year round it burdens down the owner who sells it all twice weekly and it grows more plentiful at each harvest full.
Demand for his wares of sweetest fruit, candy canes, lollipops, sugar plums, sweet tarts were of such sweet quality that none could prevail over the sweetest of sweet flavor of flavor that was pure ambrosia's delight.

Down below is Ginger the Dog of Gingerbread who barks barks barks to startle the cat who shakes the tree so harvest is full loaded down with ease of no burden to owner who harvest harvest with all ease the way.
Lily said with questions questions why do you bark so much so that the cat is scared and shakes the tree?

Ginger the Dog said with forthright candor grit tis my job you see to make my master’s job an ease.
Meowing loud Lily said let me let me let me startle Cocoa the Cat to shake the tree just once please let me let me please.

Ginger the Dog sighed okay just this once you can startle the chocolate cat until it shakes the tree until the fruit rains forth as bounty of heaven’s delight.
Lily patting her little paws together smiled ahappy grin of joy radiating from the sun to moon then from moon to sun and began to try to scare and startle Cocoa the Cat.

Cocoa the Cat said with impertinence wide all you have to do is  ask is all and shake shake shake the tree will I will I all the time you need it tremble tremble atremble it will.
Ginger the Dog looked at her with amusement full is that what we have to do?  Just ask and it’s done.  Allright Lily go ahead and ask.   Lily let out a large meow and said please please shake the tree shake the tree please.

Cocoa the Cat shook shook rattling the tree with all her might and whoa the fruit rained dancing down into baskets of ready.
Lily said I am so happy I can go home now with smiles of wide forever.

Ginger the Dog and Cocoa the Cat smiled with content satisfaction and said goodbye.
