"Reflection"
Review a guide to writing cover letters, located at https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/549/01/. Next, reflect on what you learned regarding the importance and structure of job application cover letters. Ascertain the key factors an employer may take into consideration when determining whether or not an applicant receives a job interview.
In consideration of job application cover letters the need to relay a persona that would be readily seen as an asset is a requirement. Further a brief inclusion of educational background, work experience and goal to work with a go-getting team. Also, included would be a consideration of key factors that may make your letter stand out amongst others to receive a job interview and courtesy for time of consideration with resume. When searching for key factors always try to read between the lines when reading a note for employment and compare your assets to the required skills needed. Lastly, the cover letter is like a picture of yourself and ability to do the job needed with the ability to evolve it further.
Identify two (2) key skills that you learned during the course that you think will add to your communication effectiveness.
Two key skills that I have learned is how to make a presentation grow from stage one with the ability to expand it with winning details. Further that English is like a written handshake with the written ability to motivate, care and sell any product, service or presentation.
Also, that it takes time, precision and care to get it right until you feel a positive glow about your work until you more or less know you have it under the thumb.
Thank you.

RESPONSE TO PROFESSOR AND CO-STUDENTS
I would like to invite you to my personal portfolio ... its easier to keep all info on a website for future employers or for chances of employment.
my website is:
feliciaswritingjournal.blogspot.com/ and it revolves around my mother who I love with all my heart and dad who pushed me to work and allowed me to dream. A sweet grandmother who went to college in her seventies and got her degree and a wonderful Uncle Willie and beautiful Aunt Daisy (second mom) who stood for me when I got sick and had to retire and other beautiful and courageous uncles. All in service to God and this country.
I have loved being in this class.
Please venture forth and see a dream come true that I am fighting tooth and nail for.

One thing an employer looks at is you and that is why a cover letter is needed. First, it shows you took time to critique the job and your ability to accomplish what is needed to be done. Sometimes it is the letter that causes the eyebrows to go up and make them seriously look at the resume with consideration. Some places are informal, but when approaching formal places or informal a cover letter is advised. Make your sell pitch in the letter. I submitted one with my resume years and years ago and landed a job with the City of Saginaw.
Grammar is so important and it is like a circle of completed thought. It allows the fulfillment of an idea or thought to grow with well-nurturing care. I know we all are critical but one mistake causes disappointment because the competition is stiff but when you want something you work harder and harder for it.
Thank you.

I agree with your points that employers have a unique process of their own when viewing and reading cover letters. Also, the position inquired about is important as well as why and the reason interested in the position. Also, stating that the attributes held are suitable for the position and that with a chance the position would be done as needed. Further it should stand out to make it to the group that are looked at a second time.
In relation to key skills effective communication has to be learned to speak in written form to any audience. Professionalism is the A+ in all interactive communications.
Thank you.

I agree structure is important because it relays a person's ability to be logical, precise and attendant to details. To me reading a cover letter is you and makes me want to inquiry further. Further grammar, phraseaology reflects educational level and possible ability to train upward.
One thing I do is spell-check and then sit back and play employer. If I like it then it has a 60% chance of getting noticed.
Thank you.
