"Sexual Assault Evidence and Forms of Abuse among Children"
It is common knowledge that rape and sexual assault investigations provide evidence such as stained or torn clothing, scratches, bruises and cuts used to solve the crime. Determine at least three (3) other forms of evidence associated with a rape or sexual assault. Next, recommend at least one (1) action that the law enforcement could take in order to investigate such a crime.
Three other forms of evidence associated with a rape or sexual assault case may reflect associative trauma which is emotional and psychological evidence that pertains to acts of hysteria and irreconcilable pattern that reflects inability to stabilize victim.
Another form of evidence is the internal trauma within the victim’s clutching of private parts and fetal positioning with low keening moans of distress erupting deep from stomach and shifting and backing away from physical contact and rolling of eyes, facial distress, clutching of the hands and rocking back and forth.
Lastly, another form of evidenced is despondent looks of distress and attempts of suicide, rants of high vocal distress, trembling, muteness and staring, vomiting and physical presence refusal (need to die as soon as possible presenting phobia), running, hiding, skulking and refusal of help.
As far as the scene of evidential findings would include conclusively require the searching for ripped clothing, hair follicles, fingernails, missing teeth, semen and as the victim is questioned a reflected proclivity to respond if taken to the scene of trauma. As the scene is recreated the possible spiraling of emotional response may exceed tolerance and remarkably alter scenario and close the interactive exchange of information and noted behavior changes procured.
One action that the law enforcement could take in order to investigate such a crime is to shut it down, secure and render assistance, blankets and conceal victim from bystanders or observers. Gather evidence, document all details, pictures and DNA samples and make soothing noises to give human safe contact with cuddling and holding.
The textbook cites that the four (4) most common types of abuse among children are neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and sexual abuse. Select one (1) out of the four (4) types of abuse among children. Next, determine the key challenges that the investigator may confront while investigating the abuse you selected. Suggest one (1) strategy geared toward mitigating the challenges you determined. Provide a rationale to support your response.
One of the four abuses (neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse and sexual abuse) among children that is insidious and hard to garner and access is the possibility that acts of a sexual nature are being used against a child privately. These sexual violations are so hidden that realization, socialization and prevalency sometimes is hidden beneath skillful manipulation of the child’s innocence and youth, need and want to be loved and accepted.
The key challenge that the investigator may confront while investigating this level of abuse may be the socialization process that leads to acceptance, tolerance and secret. Further because it causes a subtle pattern change in behavior it is relatively hard to pick up signals that these acts of sexual infringement are occurring with the child when faced with other possible effects of troubled characteristics that may be reflected or become the actor in a child’s behavior.
One strategy geared toward mitigating the challenge of discovery that may be found in the confrontational challenge, conductive researching and prevalency of abuse in children involves the state of observation. Observation would consist of watching telltale signals between an adult and child during natural settings of any scenario they are found in. These interactions are very facilitory to revealing volumes of hidden trauma whether verbal, physical or sexual. Prevalent is always the need to read between the lines of interactions and be able to note a diversity between the regular and the differentiated. As such these acts of observation will always be able to facilitate discovery, knowing, and intuitive proportional thought analysis on interactive and non-interactive exchanges. A trained eye and sense sees that which others do not want discovered.

WEEK 6 - DISCUSSION 6
QUESTION BY INSTRUCTOR
Felicia, sexual assault of any kind (whether it be on a child or an adult) is truly sickening and hard to garnish. As an investigator, how would you separate your feelings and do your job?

WEEK 6 - DISCUSSION 6
RESPONSE TO INSTRUCTOR
As you stated and I agree that the level of a pervert that sinks to this level is nauseating and repugnant. But the primary job of the investigator is to steel up and try to get this person and make it stick with every legality covered and in order to do this is shut down to ice and get it done!
Thank you.

WEEK 6 - DISCUSSION 6
RESPONSE TO CO-STUDENT
Response One
I agree that the steps to report rape is first contact and then confirm safe place until police arrival with rape unit team. Once confirmed safe relay number to keep calm if victim is in coherent state to reason logically. If the emotional state is not capable of being stabilized notify team of expedient nature of call…press forward fast.
Physical evidence would also include overall body scan and retrieval of any sedimentary evidence in all possible crevices. Other evidence can also be left papers with writing around scene, discarded items that may have fallen out his jeans. Condoms or anything within a 6-8 feet perimeter of victim or actual rape crime scene (area of rape) should be retrieved and documented.
Response Two
I agree that acts of abuse are hard to address but as with all things it takes finesse and delicacy to make a call on abuse due to either diversity, ethnicity or racial identification. Noted, I agree that all should work as one towards one end and that is “Keep A Child Safe!”
Thank you.
