A GIRL OF RAGS BECAME A STAR

Inspired partially by Raggedy Ann written by Johnny Gruelle.

Day by day she worked, prayed, played, lived and went to school
Having naught much but dignity retained she kept it all contained

Complaining not she endured her lot in life not a misery
Striving dreaming she saw stars in the sky about her that allowed her
twinkle to grow grow grow

Looking at the oppressed, trodden down she said a difference is what we need need to
make it all right

Someday a dream will come true for all of us who believe in God and Pray

A day of righteousness fairness love evolution and a new beginning to inspire represent us
all from start to end not

Looking at a life of boring routine a girl of rags became the star scintillating shining rotated she

Pushing for rights of the people she stood her stance of firm we all matter and not one should
be discarded cast aside devoured whole

Advising lecturing speaking she watched a change move with fleeting quiet steps from coast to coast

A knowledge of appropriateness dawn in eye of consciousness to allow the free thought of acceptance of social norms provide all

From rags to riches or nouveau poor she retained aloof from acts of crude to respect the man of love she battle freely all cometh forth
