Prison’s Gate

Bars of aloof stand black strong against invaders and runaways

Around around they march in place standing firm against all who talk back

Mocking laughter trills through the day noon night as they watch you from the corner of their eye

Tears of joy, elation and congratulations are given to those whose feet cross the Prison ‘s Gate with sweet permission

Guilty guilty as charged it reads to the prisoner as if a sweet telegraph tells it so and shows white pointed teeth in snarl of vicious

Guilty innocent it reads the slump of defeat and a tear rolls down each bar for time is long vicious when the parade starts

Smiling content Prison’s Gate knows it has a place to live and a function to do all its life

Rock-a-bye baby it watches to see are you to be a guest forever behind my bars of steel

Forever I stand to unite myself to be available for any action that tries to prevail superior over me

I click and snap my fingers for I am Prison’s Gate and now I have you
