MacLeish vision on poetry in my opinion is that a poem can signify many small and great things. It can personify itself and manifest and be evolved to relay many intriguing factors of life.
Dickinson vision on poetry is to relay a secret message of how truth is perceived and how it can be relayed to astound and confound the many.
It appears they both approach poetry in a fashion to reveal that poetry is not based on fiction but is a true art form that is worked at and achieved, but still holds mysteries that have to be investigated and thoroughly studied to gain the full meaning of a poet's heart and vision of the world.
