BAP P.1 (Abstract)
They Knew What They Wanted
This poem to me is that "they knew" and yet "they did not". It reflects both positive aspects and negative aspects of life but touched on all facets briefly and reflect that with all humans we are viewed as useful for a time and expendable when our usefulness is at end.
P. 3 (Concrete)
Beasts & Violins
This poem reflects a man who unfortunately was invasive and read his ex-girlfriend's diary and learned her summation of his character and the reason why their relationship broke up. I guess he found his true worth reflected in her diary was a very small insignificant part and because he discovered how she felt he felt vindicated by destroying her written thoughts about him. He further learned that she thought his behavior was too controlling and this subsequently lead to the breakdown in their relationship.
P. 5 (Concrete)
Concerning the Land to the South of Our Neighbors to the North
This poem is rather interesting and reflects a rather wry, dry crackling wit. I read through all of it and was amused by his very flippant and rather attention grabbing style. It compels the reader to a level of I must "read the rest" level. Interesting approach.
P. 8 (Abstract & Concrete)
Ringtone
This poem reflects a possible massacre at a college university and reflects the utter devastation caused by such that the students who had been killed still had their cell phones and calls were still incoming but unfortunately no one would ever be there to answer again.
P.9 (Abstract & Concrete)
The Doctor
This poem reflects a doctor practicing medicine and of a patient and his reading his patient's ailments as a seafarer would read a map. Questioning, checking, looking and probing to find the endless quest of their profession to find the ailment and alleviate it.
