"Robbery, Burglary, and Theft"
Compare and contrast the fundamental similarities and differences among robbery, burglary, and larceny. Provide one (1) example of each crime to support your response.
The similarities between robbery, burglary and larceny are first of all are thefts in all states of conclusiveness. Burglary and larceny is relatively close in comparison and that they are both felonious acts with the intent to deprive the owner of their property or goods. Burglary is the intrusion of a structure to steal whereas larceny can be done anywhere along with robbery.
In relation the three robbery, burglary and larceny all can be viewed as possibly a correlating pattern signifying that all are acts of intent, unlawful removal of goods that may be referred to as willful deceit to move and transfer property either at market value or below to sell on the street market.
The act of robbery involves the direct contact of taking from an individual(s) either by force with physical intimidation, with weapon or mere verbal threat. Unlike robbery, burglary does not need an individual presence to enact but the act of larceny/theft may be facilitated by either with or without an individual presence and can be facilitated at a premises and is the removal of property that belongs to another.
For Example – Robbery
Robert dressed in blue jeans, detailed expensive Spanish boots, Hidalgo jacket trimmed in lambskin fur is approached by a slim, light complexioned male of mixed descent, carrying a 9 mm with threat of harm to him physically orders him to surrender his wallet, coat and boots.
For Example – Burglary
House 1212 Express, neighborhood of above average income, owner has called 911 and has observed disturbance and missing personal property throughout house.
For Example – Larceny/Theft
Warehouse, Dock Pier 2, contents of Storage Unit 5, missing and emptied.
Select one (1) crime that you discussed in Part 1 of this discussion. Next, identify at least two (2) challenges with investigating the crime you selected and recommend at least one (1) step that law enforcement departments can take in order to improve investigation of the crime. Provide a rationale to support your response.
Larceny/Theft
Warehouse, Dock Pier 2, Storage Unit 5
Challenges with investigating this crime are the lack of or reduced amount of possible evidential findings, lack of witnesses, time of seizure or removal.
One avenue that precludes to the start of the investigation begins with the security camera and 360° scope of discovery. The next step would be close examination for possible fingerprints and gate close and up beyond hours and during hours correlated to 360° scope. K-9 track and facilitate discovery of possible trail in relation to contents and possible remnants to aid in the investigation and find perpetrator and associates.
By trying to cover all bases and leads this will help to get a summation and active account of the who, when and where.
Thank you.

No, it depends on the magnitude, monetary value, amount of damage, level of force that was used in each act and whether anyone was hurt. Each has differing levels and criteria to allocate appropriate sentence.

RESPONSE TO CO-STUDENT
I agree that all involve some type of property and the taking of something that is not theirs.
True, the inability to recall can be a monumental problem and cameras might help if the victim is in a vicinity that has a camera and it is easily located. Another point is they are seen as easy prey.
Thank you.

CRJ320 - WEEK 6 - DISCUSSION 6
"Sexual Assault Evidence and Forms of Abuse among Children"
It is common knowledge that rape and sexual assault investigations provide evidence such as stained or torn clothing, scratches, bruises and cuts used to solve the crime. Determine at least three (3) other forms of evidence associated with a rape or sexual assault. Next, recommend at least one (1) action that the law enforcement could take in order to investigate such a crime.
Three other forms of evidence associated with a rape or sexual assault case may reflect associative trauma which is emotional and psychological evidence that pertains to acts of hysteria and irreconcilable pattern that reflects inability to stabilize victim.
Another form of evidence is the internal trauma within the victim’s clutching of private parts and fetal positioning with low keening moans of distress erupting deep from stomach and shifting and backing away from physical contact and rolling of eyes, facial distress, clutching of the hands and rocking back and forth.
Lastly, another form of evidenced is despondent looks of distress and attempts of suicide, rants of high vocal distress, trembling, muteness and staring, vomiting and physical presence refusal (need to die as soon as possible presenting phobia), running, hiding, skulking and refusal of help.
As far as the scene of evidential findings would include conclusively require the searching for ripped clothing, hair follicles, fingernails, missing teeth, semen and as the victim is questioned a reflected proclivity to respond if taken to the scene of trauma. As the scene is recreated the possible spiraling of emotional response may exceed tolerance and remarkably alter scenario and close the interactive exchange of information and noted behavior changes procured.
One action that the law enforcement could take in order to investigate such a crime is to shut it down, secure and render assistance, blankets and conceal victim from bystanders or observers. Gather evidence, document all details, pictures and DNA samples and make soothing noises to give human safe contact with cuddling and holding.
The textbook cites that the four (4) most common types of abuse among children are neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and sexual abuse. Select one (1) out of the four (4) types of abuse among children. Next, determine the key challenges that the investigator may confront while investigating the abuse you selected. Suggest one (1) strategy geared toward mitigating the challenges you determined. Provide a rationale to support your response.
One of the four abuses (neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse and sexual abuse) among children that is insidious and hard to garner and access is the possibility that acts of a sexual nature are being used against a child privately. These sexual violations are so hidden that realization, socialization and prevalency sometimes is hidden beneath skillful manipulation of the child’s innocence and youth, need and want to be loved and accepted.
The key challenge that the investigator may confront while investigating this level of abuse may be the socialization process that leads to acceptance, tolerance and secret. Further because it causes a subtle pattern change in behavior it is relatively hard to pick up signals that these acts of sexual infringement are occurring with the child when faced with other possible effects of troubled characteristics that may be reflected or become the actor in a child’s behavior.
One strategy geared toward mitigating the challenge of discovery that may be found in the confrontational challenge, conductive researching and prevalency of abuse in children involves the state of observation. Observation would consist of watching telltale signals between an adult and child during natural settings of any scenario they are found in. These interactions are very facilitory to revealing volumes of hidden trauma whether verbal, physical or sexual. Prevalent is always the need to read between the lines of interactions and be able to note a diversity between the regular and the differentiated. As such these acts of observation will always be able to facilitate discovery, knowing, and intuitive proportional thought analysis on interactive and non-interactive exchanges. A trained eye and sense sees that which others do not want discovered.

RESPONSE TO CO-STUDENT
Response One
I agree that the steps to report rape is first contact and then confirm safe place until police arrival with rape unit team. Once confirmed safe relay number to keep calm if victim is in coherent state to reason logically. If the emotional state is not capable of being stabilized notify team of expedient nature of call…press forward fast.
Physical evidence would also include overall body scan and retrieval of any sedimentary evidence in all possible crevices. Other evidence can also be left papers with writing around scene, discarded items that may have fallen out his jeans. Condoms or anything within a 6-8 feet perimeter of victim or actual rape crime scene (area of rape) should be retrieved and documented.
Response Two
I agree that acts of abuse are hard to address but as with all things it takes finesse and delicacy to make a call on abuse due to either diversity, ethnicity or racial identification. Noted, I agree that all should work as one towards one end and that is “Keep A Child Safe!”
Thank you.

CRJ320 - WEEK 5 - DISCUSSION 5
"Suicide and Elder Abuse"
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) identified suicide as a common death investigation within the United States. In some instances, family members attempt to hide the fact that the person took their own life. Analyze the main reasons why persons would attempt to conceal such an event which could possibly lead them into receiving criminal charges themselves. Recommend at least one (1) action that the law enforcement could take in order to investigate such a suicide crime.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) suicide is commonly a suspicious death that has to be first primarily viewed as quoted from the book “Criminal Justice” as a possible homicide. You have to be a skeptic when looking at a case that appears to be a suicide. Due to the nature of the act being in its own case an unusual peculiarity it is prudent to secure the scene and then approach with all investigative methodology as if a homicide has occurred.
Since the act of suicide is a crime in itself in all states it is noted that all or therein involved in the hiding of the auspices of the crime would be viewed as accomplices in the concealment due to the likelihood of committance of fraud against insurance companies etcetera for retirement benefits and any goody attachment or entailment that surfaces as entitlement to be brought forth to the surviving family.
As such the nature of circumstance require the ability to understand the desperate acts of people who find themselves involved in events or acts beyond their control. Even though the horrifying murky future hovers frontally still the need to not act a criminal should be prevalent in upper thought that to act as a conspirator spirals oneself to grounds that are malevolent and threatening to freedom and security.
Therefore, the societal view on suicide is considered a stigma and suspicious note of possible mental instability, emotional trauma, familial abuse, financial devastation, health issues, destruction of standing in community and either a sufferer of depression or post-traumatic stress disorders and despotic state of senility and its reign on the elderly.
Even though the act in itself is a supposed exit and freedom from trouble it still portrays itself as an act of a coward. These steps to say “end it all” becomes for those who love you a heartrending, sorrowful and forever a goodbye.
In acknowledgment that the act has succeeded in achieving nothing it bares to mind that assisting and preventing is the need to provide self-help and acquiring mental strength to withstand the rigors and aggressive acts of domination and conquer.
Once again, any act of suicide should be looked as an act of homicide and true facilitator to acquiring the reasons of death as well as the cognitive acknowledgement and reasons why some people may disguise a suicide and claim murder or homicide and jeopardize themselves by lying to the police for concealment, self-gain and retainership of status in community, social level and abiding of social norms. Therefore, the negative acts or repercussions are discarded but still the knowledge is there that some people will take a risk to continue a life of ambiguity, anonymity and normalcy.
The National Center on Elder Abuse indicates that seniors are the fastest-growing population in the United States. It is apparent that as this populace becomes more physically frail, they are seemingly a greater target for the unscrupulous to take advantage. Discuss the main reasons why abuse of seniors is recognized yet usually goes unreported. Next, suggest one (1) action that citizens or family members could take to reduce elder abuse. Provide a rationale to support your response.
The National Center on Elder Abuse gives indication that seniors are the fastest growing population in this country and as such they are the segment that need protection from predatorial adversaries. The sheer lack of care, respect and kindness attributed to these elders of our populace is deplorable and despicable. Further these acts of “evil” toward the elderly is reflective of a society going bad.
In consequence, it reflects the youth being taught to disrespect all and are featured acts of non-christian people who find the word of God as being fruit of old, relic and something to not be heeded, acknowledged or followed. “Doing good to all young and old is the way to God’s favor for he says I am theirs first and then yours.” because of this the treating of all the elderly should be reverence because they hold the knowledge and way not those who are young and who don’t know their way at all.
Some of the main reasons why abuse of seniors or elders is not recognized and usually goes unreported are because they have been intimidated, mistreated and physically harmed, sheer fear and terror for their safety and all they hold dear and love. These seniors lives are ours to protect from those who go “boo” in the night and all steps and measures should be taken to ensure their safety, longevity and life until God determines to call them home.
Another reason why the abuse of seniors goes on is the mindset of people toward the elderly that they are nothing, don’t need nothing and subsequently leave them to be treated “bad as hell” by predators. Further who you are in the community is a factor that causes fear and terror in the elderly because the authorities won’t act to protect them because they are intimidated as well.
If you see it! Address the situation immediately and protect them at all costs. Turn them in and press charges. Network for them and keep them safe.

CRJ320 - WEEK 4 - DISCUSSION 4
"Interviewing and Interrogating"
Determine the fundamental difference between interrogating and interviewing under the circumstance of criminal investigation. Provide one (1) example of a situation or scenario when each of these would be used.
The fundamental difference between interrogating and interviewing in relation to a criminal investigation involves the meeting of a set criteria that allows the determination of what is needed for the appropriate situation or scenario.
During the determination process the interrogating requires that this interactive exchange of required details of a criminal act be facilitated at the station under strict and appropriate guidelines. In order to be a participant the party must be a suspect.
A suspect is categorized as a “suspicious party” who performed and did an offense against the law and who meets the description of either a 100% or 70% likelihood of correctness. Therefore, during the apprehension process a probable cause has been met, achieved and satisfied with true justification and reliability.
The interviewing process follows a different “drum” entirely it does not allow for apprehension of a “party” or the taking of jail for questioning…it simply allows the interactive of informal questioning for the records only. This is no way an accusing of guilt but a mere preliminary to gather information from witnesses, bystanders or canvass of the neighborhood.
Example 1
Interrogation
Party store robbed at 12:00 a.m., suspect listed as wearing a blue bandana on head, earring in left ear, tattoo on right check – crescent shaped, white t-shirt, dirty blue jeans.
Following the call two squad cars notice a fleeing person running down a parallel street of the party store with the matching description from view and is approximately 80% accuracy from squad car.
Both click on siren to pursue and capture, suspect cut off and ordered to stop. After clarifying matching details achieved, suspect is read his Miranda rights, apprehended and taken to station to be interrogated for all details of his participation in the crime.
Example 2
Interviewing
Party store robbed at 12:00 a.m., suspect listed as wearing a blue bandana on head, earring in left ear, tattoo on right check – crescent shaped, white t-shirt, dirty blue jeans.
Following the call two squad cars are driving down a parallel street and notice a person with about 60% similarity to suspect that is out and loose. They pull over and check person and ask questions of an interviewing nature only. Description does not match – tattoo is different on face. Person is entitled to benefit of doubt and does not match 100%...questioning of whether he was in the vicinity can be asked only and then released from detainment.
From the e-Activity, and based on Figure 7.5 Linear Use-of-force Continuum in Chapter 7 of the textbook, support or critique the argument that a police officer should use an Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and / or taser before the utilization of deadly force when making arrests. Provide a rationale to support your response.
Based on Figure 7.5 Linear Use-of-force Continuum in Chapter 7 in argument for the utilizing of a ECM or taser before the utilization of deadly force when making arrests
My supportive argument entails the right of judgment to establish what would be needed to check, control and apprehend suspect as a gauge and determination of what fits the “box”. Yes or No. .During the mental gauging of the scenario the point that is primary is “am I in danger”, “is an innocent bystander(s) in danger”, or “is the suspect a danger to self” and after this the thought is how to secure safe.
As such “safe” is clear and clarity to all and effective in the use of duty and the securing of the “actor” as the play goes on. One issue that I probably would be concerned with is whether a suspect had a pacemaker and if by using the taser it would disrupt the coordination of the electrical signaling between the upper and lower chambers of the heart and cause failure and subsequent death. But since the likelihood is less than 15% of having a suspect with a pacemaker, I still recommend a taser to disarm without using the next level of force which may be deadly force.
Further each scenario is different and calls for lock-on action and quickness without hesitation. It comes to either a taser or a 9 mm.
Thank you.

WEEK 4 - DISCUSSION 4
I agree with your post about the interviewing and interrogation process and the act of when a taser should be used in relation to the choice to elevate to deadly force. A true gut feeling and watchful look at body language as well as facial features allows a good gauge to know when to kick it up a notch and deal with them as they come.
A taser might not be sufficient to save your life and the goal is always stay safe, cold and deadly back.

Thank you.

Good scenarios you presented Felicia. What do you think about using tasers on childern?

WEEK 4 - DISCUSSION 4
Personally, I don't believe in using a taser on a child unless that child's physical ratio is approximately 40% greater than the officer trying to subdue the child or the child is extremely violent or a danger to self and officer then yes I would have vote yes and go ahead.

"The Fourth Amendment to the U. S. Constitution"
From the e-Activity, identify the key aspects of the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and analyze the manner in which it pertains to the average American citizen in regard to search and seizure. Provide a rationale for your response.
The Fourth Amendment to the impoverish, middle and well to do is their protector and protection. It is in its own way a guardian that never sleeps and is cognizant of the distress that all feel when a search or seizure occurs.
History brings protection because it was primarily written to protest the “writ of assistance” that was established by the British Government to search homes here in America and its abuse and usage prior to the revolution that threw off the yoke of unfairness and oppression.
Thereby, the Fourth Amendment restricts incorrect search and seizures without probable cause. In relation to the need for probable cause without it there is civil liability and levels of animosity aimed at law and legal enforcers and huge amounts of distrust.
Further, it renders a search and seizure that is done incorrectly useless with the charges dropped and discarded. This is the exclusionary rule and it is effective because its stance is based upon the Fourth Amendment and anything that is inadmissible is referred to as the “fruit of the poisonous tree”.
Even though the Fourth Amendment is protective it can only prevail on the law as its supportive in continuous fair play but leans heavily on legalities and the right. The right is indeed when a matter of legal is the law enforcement duty and an entry of consent, plain view or open field reveals illegal contraband or weaponry that is unlawful to have. This allows seizure to occur and be allowed as evidence against whomever. Also, there are other exceptions that affect the interpretation of the Fourth Amendment in regard to the treatment of people and the ensuring of fairness due to said corrective consequence.
Identify two (2) situations where a police officer may stop and question individuals based on their visual behavior, which is also known as a patdown. Next, give your opinion as to whether or not the reasons why the police patdown the individuals are valid in the situations you identified. Provide a rationale for your response.
Two situations that allow a policeman or officer to stop and question individuals based on visual behavior are suspicious behavior, erratic speech and actions or possible concealed weapon(s). The officer has a duty to ensure keeping the peace as well as keep those who are armed without license in check to prevent, circumvent actions of violence or criminal activity or a person who is mentally unable to control self. By securing a visual target visually this allow the next step of confrontation, patdowns and unarming individuals with arrest if armed without license.
The goal is always safety and security for the entire populace.

RESPONSE TO CO-STUDENT
I agree but one question is that I wonder about is what happens to the illegal contraband if the charges are threw out? Who profits? Certainly, not the people whose house was raided!
Another question, e.g., If it was weed or coke will it be destroyed completely or used in an undercover maneuver? Personally, I feel that all should be destroyed to ensure it is not stolen from in house and put on the street market for sale.
I also agree with you about the visual person who made himself or herself a “red” hot dot. Secure and do what’s right and lock them down.
Thank you.

CRJ320 - WEEK 2 - DISCUSSION 2
"Have I Recorded Everything I Was Supposed to?"
Please respond to the following:
Per the text, effective criminal investigators take notes of not only detailed information about the crime but generalized information that may or may not be relevant to the crime they are investigating. Refer to figure 2.15 “Recreation of a homicide shooting” in Chapter 2 of the textbook and determine the information (important and generalized) that you would take for your crime investigation report. Be sure to classify each piece of information as being either important or generalized. Provide a rationale for your chosen pieces of information and the classification to which you identified them.
Recreation of a Homicide Shooting
For my report the first items noted would be notes on the situational scenario, e.g., Descriptive picture of scene – Two persons lying on back in a northern direction with person “A” situated next to couch approximately less than a foot from it with a gun (9mm) in right hand (physical traits noted are significantly taller than person “B”, younger, fit, muscular, dirty and unkempt, black, undernourished), person “B” older, toned, clean and clean shaven, dressy clothing, black and regular fed with no weapon in hand.
Scene reveals casings (exterior of bullets – possible 38 or 32 may have been used as well as a 9 mm) on floor in front of A & B and at foot of B and behind door with a full bullet at B’s foot.
Hypothesis
Due to parabolic arch assumption is made that these shots (bullet holes in storage cabinet – bottom) were made by B when collapsed because his left hand is outreached and proportioned correct before falling. Assumption is made that A & B were surprised and interacted with an intruder(s) (max 2 - tight confines in room) and were subsequently gunned down.
In support of analyzation of scene the following is done:
1. Digital picture or detailed graphic sketch (triangulate scene – tip of camera photography -Head of victim veer always in Northern perspective and discuss from tip down.) Then pan camera to look for evidential clues tangible to determining acts or actions that allowed the active criminological actions to occur as well as support the hypothesis. Secure details or clues by close up pictures.
2. Protect scene with nothing moved or adjusted.
3. Measure distance from door to bodies (A & B) to determine range of shot and direction.
4. Scale to estimate distance from victims as well as directional penetration.
5. Search for clues and label (prints, possible robbery, door lock violated, disorder or neatness to determine intent, DNA sampling (congealed blood - acidity smell means occurred at least two days ago), look for possible blood sampling in hallway, look for bridge between the two sampling if found, look for possible drug paraphernalia (pipe, weed), hardcore drugs, commercialized products, scent or smell, phone line, computer base or laptop or both, witnesses, bystanders, bullets penetrate wall and enter another domicile (?), Who are victims?, dust for residue to prove weapons were fired by A & B.).
6. Secure all weapons (Look for B’s weapon if residue on hand) and catalog.
7. Leave and secure for return.
By writing a hypothesis of the situation or scenario this allows the generalization of a reenacted scene or scenario to attempt to explain the play of motions that occurred in this confrontation. All listed would be quite notable and correct to put in my report because if the suspects are apprehended then conclusive data has been done and stands in support for correct action. The purpose of being as thorough as possible is to not allow any incriminating evidence be overlooked or compromised. Further is the remembrance that a crime has been committed and should be looked at as an issue to be resolved with correctness and fairness.
Citizen online crime reporting has become popular in recent years but it has generated some speculation on its validity. Interpret your thoughts on the validity of self-reporting by citizens, and explain the main reasons why some people question the validity of citizen online crime reporting.
The validity of online crime reporting is probably viewed in a skeptical fashion due to the increase of fraud levied against companies, people, state and country and increased theft or intentional theft to hide acts of criminality. These acts of theft not only compromise the integrity of online reporting but it shows the prevalency of people to defraud, be corrupt, disregard that they are stealing the blood from these companies and killing jobs and people’s lives by using a system that has been created to help but is being violated and used cruelly to satisfy their own credo “They are on their own and anyone is a means to an end!”
Deceit becomes not only their name but their whole life. But to those who are honest and principled online crime reporting is their way of fighting back at those who target and know they are visitors and need protection from those who single them out as a “so-called fat and easy pigeon to devour”. Therefore, to protect all make sure every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed because they can come in the police station and do the same thing in person.

CRJ320 - WEEK 1 DISCUSSION 1
"What Makes an Effective Criminal Investigator?"
Please respond to the following:
From the e-Activity, determine the fundamental positive and negative characteristics of a criminal investigator. Include at least two (2) examples from real life or stories from television and newspaper to support your response. Note: Some popular television shows to consider include CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) and CSI: Miami or CSI: New York.
Some of the most favorable characteristics that make an effective criminal investigator include the ability to first be objective, analytical and procedurally correct.
As such the positive characteristics entail the following:
Deductive reasoning and acuity with high actuality
Acknowledgment of the exchange principle
Understanding differing modus operandi (during the investigative process)
Psychological value of interpretation of criminal intent
Actuality and clarity of dealing with facts and factual details
Evidential evidence being viewed as trace evidence and ability to analyze and withdraw
Good gut feeling – (leads) avenues of yes or no
Mental and Physical toughness to withstand rigor
Diverse and fair with races of populace
Mental precognitive recall of data and scene
Persistent, disciplined, tenacious and singular
Distant, intuitive, knowing
Write what you see and feel
With the negative characteristics reflective of the following:
Skepticism
Internal bias of lack of belief of confession or lack of confession
Professional and unfriendly
Lack of communicative interaction
Lack of concern for image
Mum the thought and word becomes DNA
Example One
CSI (Crime Scene Investigation)
Season 15: Episode 17 – Under My Skin
This reflective story entails a murder and subsequent investigation that revealed the kidnapping of two girls and the investigative techniques that I listed a criminal investigator should have and utilize. Parallel to the story as it is acted out is the conditional detailing of withdrawing and acquiring data to answer a prevalent question of who, why and what. As it proceeds the story reflects a correlating pattern of association of details to action of further investigation that proves an associative pattern to the prevalent question with acuity utilized and actuality revealed as a factual base.
Skepticism is also a characteristic that is highly desirable and reflective because the criminal investigators are not derailed from the trail because of internal bias and suspicion due to the planting of a dead person here and there which causes the why to holler again question and search for the reason why more and the who and the what.
Further the exchange principal and determining the modus operandi is searched for and the utilizing of a gut feeling and tenacity is almost vibrating as a bonding trait with deductive reasoning finding the leads to continue the search.
Admirable also is the lack of communicative interaction and lack of concern for image because of need to determine the what and who and the need to keep investigative processes secretive and quiet because mum the thought and word becomes DNA as such is a necessary trait and characteristic to solve any crime.
Example Two
What Are the Risks of Being a Crime Scene Investigator?
by Erin Schreiner
http://oureverydaylife.com/risks-being-crime-scene-investigator-11224.html
In reference to this article this relays that a correlating pattern that is supportive of my list of characteristics needed to be a criminal investigator as well as be a conscientious policeman. Because of the danger that is inherent in any form of police work this also support the need to use deductive reasoning and acuity with high actuality to promote the correctness of analyzed data and prevent retaliatory actions therefore actuality and clarity is of the utmost of importance.
Detailed work has to always be factual with evidential evidence being used as trace evidence to secure and be of such clarity and correctness that it does not and cannot be dismissed as an intentional bias attack.
Therefore, writing what you see and feel allows mental cognitive recall of data and scene with mental distant and analyzation. Also, skepticism is always necessary to don’t believe everything you see, feel or has been found because it can be a trail to mislead or may be almost viewed as a confession or not as confession. Further being fit mentally and physically is a characteristic that allows continuance in this field with fortitude to prevent burnout.
Consequently, the lack of communicative interaction is appropriate with Mum the thought and word as DNA becomes as silent and still as the mouse aflight.
Many criminal investigation articles suggest that there are positive and negative benefits to having police investigators specialize in certain fields of expertise (e.g. homicide, robbery). Place yourself in the role of the Chief of Police in an agency with one hundred (100) police officers, five (5) of which are general detectives who investigate every type of crime. Imagine your community is suffering from a rash of homicides. Determine the main pros and cons of training two (2) of the five (5) investigators specifically in homicide investigation in your agency. Provide a rationale to support your response.
As the Chief of Police, the main pros and cons of training two of the five general investigators specifically in homicide investigation in my agency would include the following:
PROS
Rapport
Supportive
Chain of Command
Educated and Trained Substitute or Representative
Mentor and Mentee Relationship
Sounding Board
Cognitive and Knowledge Exchange and Interactive
Equal
Similarity of Though Chain
Professional
Aloof and commands and demands respect
Good Experience
CONS
Promotional Opportunity
Confidentiality
Limited Authority
Competitive
Back Biting
Lack of Continual Loyalty
In support of my pros and cons invaluable knowledge can be exchanged as well as an opportunity to share and distribute training to be redistributed by them and then on until it becomes a chain. The relayance of expected behavior and training will further strengthen the ability to be a first class investigator and allow input and interaction from their experience as well as allow the traverse of my knowledge to them and others.
